The QGIS project provides a gentle GIS introduction, a User Guide, a Coding and Compilation Guide and a API Documentation in english and in some cases also translated into several foreign languages. QGIS User Guide![]() This document is the original User Guide of the software Quantum GIS. It gives an introduction in the usage of Quantum GIS. This document is released under the GNU Free Documentation License. We set up a new documentation repository based on RST and Sphinx for QGIS 1.8. The conversion from Latex/SVN to RST/Sphinx/GIT took some more time, but you can always find the current html status at http://docs.qgis.org. The default documentation is in English. Other languages are not yet translated but can later be added and reached like this (French, German, Italian, ... ). QGIS 1.8
